AI could detect Parkinson's from speech samples

Early signs of Parkinson’s disease can be detected by artificial intelligence algorithms from voice recordings, researchers believe.

“Vocal changes are early indicators of Parkinson’s disease, including small variations in pitch, articulation and rhythm, due to diminished control over vocal muscles,” said Dr Ali Al-Naji, associate professor at the University of South Australia.
