BMA to refer to junior doctors as ‘resident doctors’ from September

The British Medical Association has said it will replace its references to “junior doctor” with “resident doctor” from September.

It follows a call from delegates at the BMA’s annual representative meeting last year, for the union to cease using “junior” because it was considered “demeaning and misleading”.
