Breast cancer screening rates below pre-pandemic levels

Breast cancer screening rates remain slightly lower than pre-pandemic levels, with nearly a third of invited women not attending their appointments.

The latest NHS England data for 2023/24 reveals that 748,233 women did not attend a screening appointment, with almost one in four first-time invitees not acting on their invite.
