Doctors urged to look out for GLP-1 agonist misuse

Doctors are being asked by the UK medicines regulator to look out for “signs of misuse” of weight loss drugs among their patients.

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency said doctors should be aware there have been reports of patients taking glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs) for unauthorised indications such as aesthetic weight loss.
