Surprising links have been found between serum cholesterol and glaucoma, in a large UK study.

Elevated high-density lipoprotein cholesterol, often labelled 'good' cholesterol, has been linked to an increased risk of glaucoma, andlow-density lipoprotein cholesterol, often considered 'bad' cholesterol, linked to a lower risk of glaucoma.1
