GP fit note reform under review

An independent review is questioning whether GPs should continue issuing fit notes because of time pressure and their ability to assess work-related health issues.

The 'Keep Britain Working' review ¹, supported by the Department for Work and Pensions, and led by businessman Sir Charlie Mayfield, states: "GP staff are not generally qualified in occupational health.
