Long Covid patients have inflammatory blood plasma markers, study finds

Long Covid patients have signs of continuing inflammation in their blood which has prompted UK researchers to consider using existing drugs, which modulate the body’s immune system, as a potential treatment option.

Findings from the largest UK study of patients admitted to hospital with coronavirus show that long Covid leads to ongoing inflammation which can be detected in the blood.
