New drug recommended for osteoporosis after menopause

Abaloparatide has been given approval for use on the NHS in England for treating osteoporosis after menopause, if there is a very high risk of fracture.

The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence said the treatment can provide an alternative for people who have not responded to, or cannot tolerate, usual treatment options.
