NHS England appoints first medical director for mental health and neurodiversity

Dr Adrian James has been appointed to a new NHS England leadership role focused on transforming NHS services for patients with mental health needs, autism, learning disabilities and those who are neurodiverse.

NHSE national medical director, Dr Stephen Powis described the new medical director for mental health and neurodiversity job as “the first role of its kind” in the organisation.
