Pharmacy First to be scrutinised on its safety and impact

A scheme where pharmacists are able to supply prescription-only medicines to treat seven common conditions, is to be evaluated on safety and cost-effectiveness.

NHS England launched the Pharmacy First scheme at the end of last month, aiming to make it easier and quicker for patients to receive treatment - and take pressure off GPs.
