Tributes to pioneering woman surgeon

Tributes were pouring in last night to the pioneering woman surgeon Dame Clare Marx, who has died at the age of 68 after developing pancreatic cancer.

The Royal College of Surgeons, of which she was president, announced the news yesterday “with great sadness”.
