Two thirds of doctors experience compassion fatigue, study finds

Doctors working across all medical specialties have experienced compassion fatigue and this can contribute to psychological distress, a new study has found.

A total of 1,147 doctors were surveyed by the Medical and Dental Defence Union of Scotland (MDDUS) as part of research to understand the impact of issues such as exhaustion, heavy workloads, insufficient resources and staffing shortages.
