What reintroducing league tables could mean for doctors

Nearly 20 years after league tables for NHS trusts were scrapped, health secretary Wes Streeting has brought the policy back as part of the government’s plan to fix the NHS. We take a look at what the response has been from doctors.

Shortly after the general election, Wes Streeting commissioned Lord Ara Darzi to carry out an independent investigation of the NHS in England. His report questioned accountability among health service leaders and the cost of hiring temporary workers, which sits at £3 billion a year.1
