__What is it?__ The [Health Disparities White Paper (HDWP)](https://hansard.parliament.uk/commons/2022-02-04/debates/22020420000007/HealthDisparities) is a government plan to address health inequalities across the UK. It would propose legislation to tackle problems such as GP shortages in deprived areas and racial disparities in maternal death rates.<sup>1,2</sup>
