Earlier this year the government promised “bold action” against health inequalities, but reports suggest new Health Secretary Thérèse Coffey may have scrapped a planned white paper entirely – will it ever see the light of day?

What is it? The Health Disparities White Paper (HDWP) is a government plan to address health inequalities across the UK. It would propose legislation to tackle problems such as GP shortages in deprived areas and racial disparities in maternal death rates.1,2
